What is salvation?
Salvation is the remedy from God to save us from sin, which leads to death. Because God loves us so much and wants us to dwell with him forever, he has made a way for us to be freed from the bondage of sin, so that we can inherit the gift of eternal life.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
The gospel of Jesus Christ tells us about the gift of salvation.
The gospel is the message sent to us from God, which tells us how God gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, is the way God has made for us to be loosed from the bondage of sin.
How do I receive the gift of salvation?
•Believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ in your heart,
•Confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Saviour,
•Repentance (acknowledging and turning away from all your sins),
and in obedience to God’s holy word, you must then be *baptized in Jesus name (Acts 2:38)
These are the first steps towards receiving the gift of salvation.
*You can read further about baptism on the baptism tab.
